Description
Guest 2101 Cruiser Series Battery Selector Switch w/o AFD is a rugged, 4-position marine electrical switch designed to safely manage and isolate dual battery banks on a vessel. Manufactured under the Guest Marine brand (a division of Navico Group/Marinco), this model does not feature Alternator Field Disconnect (AFD), meaning the boat's engine should be turned off before rotating the switch to the "Off" position to protect the alternator from voltage spikes.
Key Specifications
- Current Ratings: 230 Amps continuous and 345 Amps momentary (cranking).
- Voltage Compatibility: Supports 6V, 12V, 24V, or 36V marine electrical systems.
- Operations: 4-position knob allowing selection of Battery 1, Battery 2, Both (parallel), or Off.
- Construction: Heavy-duty polycarbonate case built to withstand harsh saltwater marine environments.
- Installation: Designed for surface mounting with standard 3/8" copper cable lugs.
- Dimensions: Measures 5.50" in diameter by 2.63" deep.
Important Application Warning
Because this model lacks the AFD feature, turning the switch to the "Off" position while the engine is running will instantly break the circuit between the alternator and the battery. This can cause a severe voltage spike that may destroy the alternator’s diodes. Always ensure the engine is completely shut down before turning the selector switch to "Off". For applications requiring an integrated safety safeguard, look for the Guest 2100 model, which includes built-in AFD.
