Jabsco Flexible Marine Impeller

Jabsco flexible impellers are available for many compatible makes and models of bronze flexible impeller pumps used for marine engine cooling, bilge pumping, water transfer, and other general-purpose applications.

Regular impeller inspection and replacement are important parts of preventative marine pump maintenance. Follow the pump manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule and replace the impeller as required based on engine duty and operating conditions.

Impeller Replacement

Replacing a flexible impeller can be performed by removing the pump end-cover screws and carefully extracting the impeller from the pump. A Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or suitable channel-lock pliers can be used to grip the impeller hub.

Avoid prying the impeller out with screwdrivers, as this can damage the pump body or sealing surface and may contribute to leaks. Proper removal tools can help protect the pump during impeller replacement.

Lubricating a New Impeller

Always lubricate a new impeller with an appropriate lubricant before installation. Lubrication helps make installation easier and provides protection during initial pump startup and priming.

After installing the impeller, replace the gasket or seal as required and reinstall the pump end cover. Inspect the assembly carefully before returning the pump to service.

Keep a Spare Marine Impeller On Board

It is recommended to carry a properly matched spare marine impeller on board. A replacement impeller can be an important part of onboard maintenance supplies for vessels using flexible impeller pumps for engine cooling, bilge, transfer, or other pumping applications.

Shop Jabsco flexible impellers and marine pump replacement parts at U.S. Boating & Marine Supplies. Verify your pump model, dimensions, drive type, and application before ordering to ensure proper compatibility.
