Description
Ancor NMEA 2000 Single Device Backbone Starter Kit (Part #270203) is a pre-assembled marine electronics kit designed to build a brand new NMEA 2000 data network on your boat or connect a single new device when your component and power source are located in different areas.
What is Included in the Box
The kit contains all necessary marine-grade components to configure a basic, reliable data bus:
- Backbone Cable: One 16.4-foot (5m) cable used to form the main data highway across your vessel.
- Power Cable with Tee: One 3.3-foot (1m) power cord connected directly to a specialized T-connector to supply 12V DC power safely to the network network.
- Drop Cable: One 1.64-foot (0.5m) light-gauge cable featuring thin insulation and a black coupler to easily route connection from a T-connector to your display or sensor.
- Single Tee Connector: One extra standalone T-piece to integrate your device's drop cable into the network.
- Terminating Resistors: One male terminator and one female terminator to close out both physical ends of the backbone line, suppressing signal reflections.
Specifications & Features
- Color-Coded Couplers: Simplifies installation by assigning unique colors to separate components (e.g., yellow couplers for terminators, black couplers for device drops).
- Easier Wire Routing: Drop cables utilize a lighter gauge wire compared to the heavy-duty backbone cables, making it much simpler to run through tight bulkheads and consoles.
- Universal Compatibility: Follows standard NMEA 2000 protocols, allowing seamless data communication between different brands of chartplotters, fishfinders, VHF radios, and engine sensors.
