The Sierra Marine 18-5966-1 Alternator is a 12-volt, 55-amp marine alternator featuring a single-groove V-belt pulley and an internal regulator. It is manufactured by Sierra Marine to meet or exceed USCG and SAE J1171 marine safety standards for ignition protection. This Mando-style unit serves as a direct replacement for 1982/1983 and newer MerCruiser, Volvo, and Perkins applications utilizing standard V-belt configurations prior to the introduction of serpentine belt systems.
