Johnson / Evinrude

Johnson / Evinrude ignition coils are essential components of the outboard ignition system, providing the high-voltage electrical output required to produce spark at the spark plugs. When an ignition coil becomes worn or fails, symptoms may include hard starting, misfiring, rough running, or loss of spark.

At U.S. Boating & Marine Supplies, shop replacement Johnson Evinrude ignition coils from trusted marine aftermarket manufacturers including CDI Electronics and Sierra Marine. Our selection covers a wide range of older and newer Johnson and Evinrude outboard applications.

Single-Output & Dual-Output Ignition Coils

Johnson and Evinrude outboards use different ignition coil configurations depending on the model year, horsepower, cylinder arrangement, and ignition system.

  • Single-output ignition coils are used on many applications with an individual coil serving a single spark plug.
  • Dual-output ignition coils are used on compatible applications where one coil provides ignition output to two spark plugs.

Choosing the correct coil configuration is critical. A single-output coil and dual-output coil are not interchangeable unless specifically identified as compatible with the particular engine and ignition system.

Find the Correct Johnson Evinrude Coil

Replacement ignition coils are available for numerous Johnson and Evinrude 2-stroke outboards, including carbureted and electronic ignition applications. When searching for a replacement, use your engine model number, year, horsepower, cylinder configuration, ignition system, and original OEM or aftermarket part number.
