Description
Blue Sea Class T Fuses offer an ultra-high interrupt capacity of 20,000A AIC at 125V DC, making them the industry standard for protecting high-current circuits, massive battery banks, and sensitive marine inverters. They are specifically recommended by ABYC E-13 standards for lithium-ion (LiFePO4) battery installations. Because lithium batteries feature extremely low internal resistance, they can unleash massive short-circuit currents that would weld standard ANL or MRBF fuses shut; Class T fuses blow instantly under severe faults to prevent catastrophic electrical fires.
Key Technical Specifications
- Interrupt Capacity: 20,000 Amps AC/DC.
- Maximum Voltage Rating: Up to 125V DC / 160V DC depending on the housing blocks.
- Amperage Range: Available from 110A up to 400A.
- Physical Frame Sizes: Split into two distinct body sizes: a smaller block frame for 110A–200A fuses and a larger block frame for 225A–400A fuses.
- Trip Behavior: Engineered for high-speed, fast-acting response to dead shorts, while incorporating a precise time-delay curve to prevent nuisance blowing from brief inductive inrush surges (like inverter startups or motor cranking).
Compatible Blue Sea Systems Fuse Blocks
Class T fuses require dedicated, heavy-duty mounting blocks to handle extreme currents and heat dissipation safely.
